What is Naturopathic Medicine?

From the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians: "Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct primary health care profession emphasizing prevention, treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage individuals' inherent self-healing process. The practice of naturopathic medicine includes modern and traditional, scientific, and emperical methods". "Naturopathic practice includes the following diagnostic and therapeutic modalities: clincal and laboratory diagnostic testing, nutiritional medicine, botanical medicine, naturopathic physical medicine, public health measures, hygiene, counseling, minor surgery, homeopathy, acupuncture, prescription medicine, intravenous and injection therapies, and naturopathic obsetrics". Important Note: Whatever the case, our number one priority is YOU. Here at Alinea, we will use whatever medicine is needed to keep you safe and get you to feeling better as soon as possible. We recognize that there are certain instances where prescribing a medication is appropriate, while there are other instances where turning to more natural treatments may be more beneficial. We love all medicine. Period.

Do you accept insurance?

Alinea Health is cash based practice. We accept different types of payment options including Health Savings Accounts (HSA), all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover), or cash. Alinea is not affiliated with any of the major insurance companies, but we are happy to provide the appropriate paper work for you to submit a claim to your insurance provider.

Can you prescribe medications?

Yes!

Why should I chose Alinea Health over other doctors?

Well, we can only speculate on this one, but here are some reasons we think we're awesome! 1. We come to you, when it's convenient for you. 2. We don't have to and don't want to abide to the typical 9-5 hours. Do you need an appointment at 6am before work, or at 9pm after the kids have gone to bed? Perfect! We'll be there. 3. We know both conventional drug prescriptions and natrual treatments (acupuncture, botanical medicine, homepathy, nutritional counseling, hydrotherapy, etc) 4. We will never rush you through an appointment. You are a human being, not a number.

Do you see children?

Typically no. Children are amazing and we love them, but we prefer to work with young adults, adults, and geriatic populations. Now, if little Timmy has an earache and you'd like us to take a sneak peak, we will most definitely take a look.

What are your hours?

Monday-Sunday, whenever you need us.

How long will I need to stay with Alinea?

This is a hard one to answer because everyone is different. As a general rule, it will take approximately one month to "undo" every year you've had your concern. Ex: You've had diabetes for 6 years, expect for a healing process of about 6 months. There is no minimum amount of time that we require you sign up for. Stay as little or as long as you'd like. We do require a 30 day written notice for cancellation of services.

Alinea's goal is to always be upfront and transparent about how we practice medicine, our pricing, and any other questions you might have. If your question is not on this page please e-mail info@alineahealth.net.
